Vice President, Student Life (Aug 2025)

Position Summary: The Student Life Vice President reports to the President and provides leadership for the Student Life programs of the university. In the role, this senior administrator collaborates with faculty, staff, and President’s Cabinet members to expand and ensure the quality and reputation of the Student Life programs in keeping with the mission, vision, and values of the university.

Responsibilities:
 
RESIDENCE LIFE & HOUSING: fosters the growth of LCC’s student residential community through authentic relationships, endless welcome, everyday living and learning, intentionality in the context of a cross-cultural Christian community, and learning to live cooperatively with others.
  • STUDENT CONDUCT: Upholds and maintains community standards and student policies.
CAMPUS MINISTRIES: assists students in their understanding of the Christian faith and how to articulate a personal philosophy of life, encourages inquiry and social responsibility, provides a place for dialogue between differing spiritual points of view.

MIGRATION SERVICES: provides support for prospective and enrolled international students as they navigate the Lithuanian migration processes.

STUDENT ENGAGEMENT & FORMATION:
  • INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION & PROGRAMMING – fosters an international and intercultural dimension within the community, orients new international students to Lithuania, and provides educational opportunities for the entire LCC community to learn about the many cultures and nationalities present within the student population.
  • LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT – prepares students for current and future leadership roles and responsibilities primarily through on campus leadership positions and the initiatives of the Leadership Development Program.
  • STUDENT COUNCIL, CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS – provides appropriate advocacy and leadership development opportunities as well as an avenue for club creation for students with particular interests.
  • SERVICE LEARNING – develop and track service-learning initiatives by mobilizing students to serve with local and global community partners.
STUDENT SUCCESS & WELLNESS
  • CAREER DEVELOPMENT COUNSELOR – aids students in self-assessment, presentation skills, job placement and career planning as well as assists with practicum placements and on-campus job promotions.
  • COUNSELING SERVICES – provides quality individual and group counseling, assessment and referral services for students who may be experiencing psychological, behavioral or learning difficulties.
  • FIRST-YEAR ORIENTATION – facilitates the successful transition of new students into LCC’s regionally-unique learning environment and community.
  • DISABILITY SUPPORT – supports students with documented disabilities through reasonable accommodations academic and otherwise.
  • DEFEHR FRONT-DESK OPERATIONS – Ensures efficient and supportive reception desk services including incoming and outgoing mail, building security, and emergency response.
  • OTHER CO-CURRICULAR INVOLVEMENT – provides opportunities for student engagement through intramural sports programming, performing arts, etc.
CRISIS MANAGEMENT – co-chairs the Crisis Management Team.

STUDENT LIFE MANAGEMENT – chairs the Student Life Management Team and other committees and task forces as assigned.

PRESIDENT'S CABINET – serves on President’s Cabinet and CABINET EXECUTIVE - collaborates with Cabinet colleagues in budget planning, and in recommending appropriate policies, procedures, and practices for the campus.
