Computer Systems Administrator

The Computer Systems Administrator (1) supports users to provide for the best overall technological environment for LCC, (2) monitors the health and effective functioning of the computer network and systems to maximize computer and infrastructure efficiency, (3) assists within the IT department to facilitate the efficient flow of computer-related information while providing maximum uptime of computer systems, and (4) assists users with network-related problems, researching and finding workable solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with users and other IT staff to determine and develop specific computer systems requirements and processes.
  • Evaluate needs, specifications, and requirements against available solutions for LCC Computer Systems. Recommend modifications for third party software/hardware products.
  • Analyze, design, develop, and implement fully integrated systems
  • Ensure Computer Network system integrity and efficiency, including preventative maintenance, maintenance, repair, network monitoring, and maximum uptime of all LCC-related Computer Systems.
  • Resolve problems related to servers and network devices.
  • Recommend hardware and software updates/upgrades.
  • Assist IT Project Manager in tendering process.
  • Provide computer systems user support and general user support as needed.
  • Manage user requests in IT ticketing system.
  • Maintain a high level of customer support to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Keep aware of current technology and technology trends pertaining to the improvement and implementation of LCC technology infrastructure.
  • Manage a team of student assistants serving as IT Helpdesk and Sound Technicians (who oversee audio/visual needs for campus events and manage campus sound equipment).
Basic Expectations:
  • Knowledge and experience with Computer Systems.
  • Customer Service orientation.
  • Ability to understand how technology supports the attainment of LCC's strategic goals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Written and oral fluency in English and Lithuanian.
  • Occasional required participation in evening/weekend events.
Job Qualifications:
EDUCATION:                
  • Bachelors in IT related field is required.
 SKILLS: 
  • Computer systems management.
  • Strong customer service and excellent communication.
  • Ability to operate with kindness and respect under pressure and with non-expert persons requesting support. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to manage a team effectively.

Salary:  starting from 1800 EUR before-tax
