Faculty Position in Media and Communication (open rank) (August 2024)

LCC International University in Klaipeda, Lithuania, welcomes applications for a full-time faculty position, open rank, in the Department of Contemporary Communication beginning August 2024.  

We seek a candidate who will teach courses in the BA program in Contemporary Communication in the area of media culture and theory, digital communication, media writing/content creation/storytelling; supervise senior thesis research; pursue a research agenda; and participate in the intellectual life of the university. A record of research and other scholarly activities is desirable.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in media culture and theory, media writing and content creation, digital communication, and/or design (web design, graphic arts, digital arts, audio-visual)
  • Teach required courses in the major and LCC core —e.g., Public Speaking, Arts and Culture, Introduction to Communication and Media
  • Supervise senior thesis projects in areas of expertise  
  • Mentor and advise students in the major
  • Produce research and scholarship, in collaboration with other universities/researchers
  • Develop relationships with social partners in the community around mutually-beneficial projects and activities
Qualifications:
  • Specialized training in media and communication studies
  • A PhD, MFA, or MA in Communication or a related field. Rank of appointment commensurate with qualifications
  • An appreciation for a liberal arts model of education
  • Commitment to student-centered teaching and learning from a Christian worldview
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level (preferred)
  • Demonstrated record of scholarship (preferred)
  • International experience or experience with diverse student populations (beneficial)
