IT Helpdesk Technician

Position Summary: 
The IT Helpdesk Technician is responsible to a) assist and support the LCC community in relation to Helpdesk and audio-visual / sound technical support needs, b) manage and equip student assistants who work Helpdesk and AV / sound for LCC events and programs, c) ensure excellent customer support and service to the LCC community that is grounded in clear and consistent communication, d) assess and replace essential technical equipment across campus (AV equipment, technical hardware, sound equipment, etc.), and e) train staff, faculty, and students on essential topics including but not limited to Microsoft Office 365 suite and Livestreaming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
OVERSIGHT OF HELPDESK OFFICE
  1. Manage incoming requests for technical support, equipment checkouts, or technical maintenance.
  2. Oversee Helpdesk student assistants.
  3. Ensure quality service to campus programs and events.
  4. Ensure regular maintenance is performed on AV equipment, technical hardware, and sound equipment.
  5. Communicate with staff and faculty regarding IT related updates or maintenance.
TRAINING LCC EMPLOYEES
  1. Train LCC staff and faculty on Microsoft Office 365 suite.
  2. Train student assistants responding to Helpdesk requests.
  3. Train student assistants managing AV/Sound and Livestream for LCC events and programs
Learn new technologies and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
Experience: 1-3 years experience in an IT support related position preferred.

Skills:
  • General IT skills, including Microsoft Windows and Office 365
  • Customer service mentality and attitude
  • Audio/visual and streaming knowledge
  • Ability to problem-solve and trouble-shoot technical issues
  • Ability to manage and train part-time student workers
  • Good English communication skills preferred
Other:
  • Understands and supports the mission of LCC
  • Ability to find solutions to problems in unfamiliar situations with little or no assistance.
