JOB SUMMARY:  Provide executive leadership, financial strategy, and financial management for the university. Oversee technology, physical plant, maintenance, and campus development.
                                                          
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:     
  
FINANCIAL STRATEGY
  • Advise the president in shaping institutional fiscal policies, including setting appropriate internal controls;
  • Work collaboratively on the process of identifying and implementing enrollment management strategies and academic  programs that are responsive to  market demands;
  • Provide financial data and analysis to inform decision making across campus and monitor progress toward strategic university goals, including  delivering quarterly reports, cash flow projections, and audit reports to Executive Cabinet and the Board of Directors;
  • Regularly evaluate and oversee the risk management systems;
  • Participate with the President and the Board in their responsibilities in building the endowment.
 
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
  • Supervise the development, implementation and continuous monitoring of the annual budget;
  • Work with the President and Executive Cabinet to make budget allocations; to monitor and control budgets, expenditures, and receipts in all fund  categories; and to make budget revisions as needed or directed;
  • Proactively, and upon request, advise the President, other University administrators, and faculty on matters concerning financial policies and  procedures, budgeting, competitive benchmarking, efficiency analysis, and overall operations;
  • Oversee vendor/supplier contract management.
 
 SUPERVISION
  • Accounting: Oversee the accounting systems in Lithuania, the US, and Canada, and ensure locally-appropriate compliance.
  • Facilities: Oversee and maintain a culture of proactive campus maintenance and facilities upkeep.
  • Facilities: Actively participate in campus development (new building construction).
  • Technology: Oversee and promote a technology plan that keeps the university in line with current trends.  
 
RELATIONSHIPS:       
  • Reports to: President
  • Works closely with: President’s Cabinet, Board of Directors Finance Committee, Advancement Office

QUALIFICATIONS:                              
 
Education:    
  • Advanced degree in business-related discipline preferred.  

Experience:
  • A record of progressive and effective management/supervision
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, planning, budgeting, facilities management, risk management, and contract management
  • Professional experience in a medium or large organization with responsibility for a multi-million EUR budget, including multiple currencies
  • Experience with university financial operations and fund accounting highly desired

Skills:              
  • Demonstrated success in building respectful and collaborative working relationships with a broad range of constituencies.
  • Strong communication skills that include listening, writing, and speaking with clarity in English.
