Liberal arts North American style Christian university located in Lithuania is seeking a Resident Director that is passionate about building community, mentoring students, and ensuring social, physical and spiritual well-being of the students on the hall.  This position includes mentoring Resident Assistants, enforcing community standards and the oversight of the residential facilities. We seek an individual with experience in residence life who is people-oriented, creative, sincere, and demonstrates a depth of Christian commitment. LCC International University is a diverse community of around 500 students (40% from Lithuania, 60% International), who come from almost 40 countries of the world. Each semester around 50 Study Abroad students come to LCC from North American universities. Established in 1991 by a joint venture of Lithuanian, Canadian and American foundations, LCC has distinguished itself in the region by offering a unique, future-oriented style of education and an interactive academic environment. The LCC education places broad-based education within the context of a Christian academic community in order to extend education beyond the classroom.

1.   Facilitate relevant educational programming in conjunction with a Residence Life staff to enrich student growth and development, promote community in the residence hall through events, programs, conflict resolution, and instill a sense of ownership and care for the physical building among residents.
2.   Enforce and take appropriate disciplinary measures in the area of student conduct and residence policies in accordance with LCC community standards and discipline procedures.  The goals in the disciplinary process are to encourage students to take responsibility for their choices, understand the responsibilities of living in community, provide an opportunity for their personal and moral development, and restoration to the community.
3.   Ensure on-call availability for emergency incidents, security issues, and act as a resource and support for Resident Assistants in emergency situations.
4.   Recruit, select, train, and mentor Resident Assistants (RAs) and Reception Desk workers. Provide opportunities for their professional development.
5.   Coordinate with residence hall cleaning and maintenance staff to ensure timely and organized care of student and guest living space. Manage residence hall housing lists, guest schedules and use.
6.   Collaborate in an international team of Student Life professionals working on common project and events that ensure holistic student development.
  • Reports to: Associate Dean of Students
  • Supervises: Receptionist and Night Guard Staff
  • Works closely with:  RDs, Intercultural Programs Coordinator, Facilities Manager, IT staff.
Education:  Bachelor's degree in related field required.  Master's degree in Student Personnel, Counseling, Ministry, or Higher Education is an advantage.
Experience:  Undergraduate Residence Life experience required.  Previous work in Residence Life and/or with international student populations, youth work or involvement in student leadership desired. 
Skills:  Strong individual and group interpersonal skills; ability to initiate relationships and develop rapport with undergraduate students; understanding of developmental concerns of university populations; ability to encourage personal/spiritual growth in others and implement programs.

Work load:    Full time           
Live in requirement:  RD is required to live in a staff apartment at the residence hall. Housing costs are covered by LCC International University
