Academic Vice President (August 2027)

Position Summary: LCC International University is currently seeking a full-time Academic Vice President (AVP) to serve at its campus in Klaipeda, Lithuania. LCC is an international Christian liberal arts university that enrolls students from more than 50 countries. The new AVP will join a committed and diverse group of faculty and staff who are passionate about educating, discipling, and mentoring the students who study at this truly unique institution.

Qualifications Required: 
  • An earned doctorate
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching 
  • Research experience, including a publication record and demonstrated ability to promote faculty research productivity 
  • Academic leadership experience at the department chair level or higher, including experience with financial management and hiring/ development of faculty 
  • A visionary and strategic academic leader who is able to work independently, receive and incorporate feedback, and delegate as necessary
  • Deep Christian commitment, including affirmation of the Nicene Creed, along with a vision for, and experience with, integration of Christian faith and university-level education • Personal and professional integrity
  • English language proficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with international higher education
  • Experience with data-driven decision making, change management, program development, and promotion of academic innovation
Qualifications Preferred: 
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Lithuanian higher education regulations, current European developments, and strategic partnership frameworks (e.g., micro-credentials, joint degrees, Erasmus+). 
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the Lithuanian language (LCC provides employees with access to language learning resources free of charge).
Responsibilities:
  • Is responsible for academic programs, collaborating with faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Leads the faculty in developing and improving the educational programs and policies of the university, including curricular offerings, pedagogical methods, supportive co-curricular opportunities, graduation requirements, and effective processes of assessment.
  • Monitors the academic progress of students, the delivery of instruction, and the functions of academic departments.
  • Guides the process to recruit faculty who promise excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service in keeping with the mission of the university.
  • Plans, identifies, and creates opportunities for faculty development.
  • Hires and supervises the Associate Dean; the Department Chairs; the Library Director; the Registrar; the Study Abroad Director; the academic center directors
  • Oversees the adherence to Faculty Handbook rules and regulations, and recommends policies ensuring the general welfare of the academic program and the faculty to the President.
  • Chairs the Academic Division Leadership Team and other committees and task forces as assigned.
  • Serves on President’s Cabinet and the Cabinet Executive, chairing meetings in the absence of the president.
  • Collaborates with Cabinet colleagues in budget planning, and in recommending appropriate policies, procedures, and practices for the campus.
  • Serves as ex officio member of Academic Council.
  • Oversee university and program accreditation, ensuring compliance with the Lithuanian Center for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) standards and guiding the institution in exploring North American accreditation 
  • Reports to President and serves as staff liaison to the Academics Committee of the Board of Directors
