Position Summary: Responsible for teaching English courses at a variety of levels to both adults and young learners who seek to develop their English language skills for professional and personal enrichment. During the summer, the teacher is responsible for preparing lesson plans for the kids’ and teens’ summer camps as well as teaching in them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach integrated skills courses in English language at a variety of levels from Elementary to Advanced. The courses can take place in person and/or online.
- Teach evening courses for adults as well as afternoon courses for young learners.
- Cooperate with other ELC teachers to develop program curriculum.
- Participate in student assessment and placement at the beginning of each semester.
- Conduct regular assessments of students’ progress and adjust teaching methods to best meet learners’ needs.
- Prepare lesson materials and teach in at least 3 weeks of the ELC summer program (Kids’/Teens’ Day Camps).
- Attend all ELC teachers’ meetings and English department meetings (as required).
- Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students and their parents by providing regular feedback regarding their progress.
- Help promote ELC during fairs and other events as needed.
- Help create new programs and workshops and improve current programs to keep providing excellent quality and adjust to new students’ needs.

- Works closely with: Other ELC teachers, ELC staff

Preferred Qualifications:
- B.A. Degree in English, Education, TESOL or related field and/or Post Graduate Diploma in TESOL
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience
- Commitment to student-centered education
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Proficiency in computer operation, including mastery of MS Office programs and Zoom platform
- Ability to work evening hours

Compensation: 1300 to 1500 based on degree qualification and experience.
