Position Summary: The Director of Study Abroad is responsible for shaping the vision and execution of the Study Abroad and exchange programs at LCC - direct responsibilities include marketing and recruitment of Study Abroad students, continuous evaluation of the program to meet student and institutional objectives, and developing and maintaining relationships with international partner institutions for Study Abroad (North America), Erasmus+ (EU) and International Exchange. This position oversees all aspects of the Study Abroad and exchange programs.
1. Program Marketing
- Develop and manage integrated marketing plan for various Study Abroad and exchange programs
- Ensure marketing decisions are brand based and financially sound
2. Study Abroad Program
- Recruitment and Admissions
i. Supervise recruitment of SA students at partner institutions.
ii. Work closely with SA Recruiter to set annual recruitment goals and strategy.
iii. Monitor the Study Abroad Admissions processes.
- Experience
i. Oversee the full SA experience.
ii. Coordinate cultural debriefing programs.
iii. Initiate one-on-one cultural adjustment processing.
- Cross-cultural Seminar
i. Provide leadership for a 3 ECTS mandatory course (COM331) each semester.
ii. Schedule speakers and organize educational cultural activities.
iii. Grade assignments throughout the semester and conduct exit interviews.
- Short-term Programs
i. Recruit groups for study and cultural exchange trips to LCC.
ii. Develop budgets and itinerary proposals for guest groups.
iii. Lead and guide portfolio of guest groups each year. Delegate planning and guiding of guest groups to CIE staff as needed.
3. Leadership and Supervision
- Conduct ongoing program evaluation.
- Hire and supervise student assistants.
- Lead orientation and training for new staff. Conduct exit interviews for departing staff.
- Organize and manage staff to meet goals. Evaluate goal achievement at the end of each semester.
- Plan and lead weekly staff meetings.
- Participate in Crisis Management team, Academic Leadership team, Academics department meetings as well as other LCC committees, events & discussions when appropriate.
4. Finances
- Propose and monitor Study Abroad budget.
- Supervise Erasmus+ grant budgets and expenditures.
- Propose summer / semester program fees and communicate to partner institutions.
5. North American University Relations
- Develop and maintain relationships with partner institutions.
- Negotiate and update agreements.
- Communicate about individual student issues.
- Communicate about national / international incidents.
- Coordinate campus visits of partner institution representatives.
6. Exchange Programs
- Oversee the development and implementation of new partnerships for Erasmus+ and International Exchange.
- Coordinate the faculty/staff mobility process.
- Oversee grant application and reporting process.
- Develop itineraries for visiting faculty/staff mobilities alongside faculty and other LCC departments.
- Conduct evaluations and site visits of new and established partner institutions to ensure quality of programs and suitability for LCC mobilities.
- Evaluate, decide and provide feedback for exception requests and appeals of internal policies.

- Education: Undergraduate degree
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in international education and program management
- Marketing and recruitment
