HR Compliance Specialist

Position Summary:  The HR Compliance Specialist is responsible for legal documentation related to faculty and staff employment and short-term contracts and timesheets for hourly student employees and summer camp employees.  The HR Compliance Specialist helps develop and retain mission-fit and position-fit faculty and staff through performance management processes, professional development strategies, and employee recognition programs.

Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Lithuanian Labor Code Documentation
  1. Create and file work contracts
  2. Administer hiring, termination, and other not-coming-to-work bases.
  3. Administer work contract changes (loads, terms, salary changes).
  4. Administer scheduled vacation (annual and non-paid).
  5. Administer changes in minimum wage.
  6. Document other Labor Code related issues (basis for work contract termination, etc.).
  7. Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the Lithuanian labor Code.
  8. Ensure LCC HR policies are current with Lithuanian Labor Code.
  9. Participate as needed in meetings, seminars, conferences related to maintaining current Labor Code knowledge.
2. SoDra Reports and Documentation
  1. Ensure required SoDra reports (hiring and termination forms SD1, SD2), giving birth leave (NP SD), maternity leave (SD9) and paternity leave forms, non-paid vacation leave (SD12) are accurate and completed on time.
  2. Maintain accurate record of submissions.
  3. Oversee maternity end dates and keep supervisors informed.
  4. Administer sick leave.
3. Payroll Administration
  1. Calculate monthly payments for timecards, overtime and work-on-day-off.
  2. Submit monthly payroll to accounting department for calculations.
  3. Submit additional payment and bonuses orders.
4. Employment of Student Assistants and Camp Employees
  1. Administer contracts for Student Assistants.
  2. Provide guidance and support to dept chairs and dept managers with timecards, labor code regulations and hiring/firing processes related to student assistants.
  3. Administer contracts for summer camp employees.
5. Faculty Registry
  1. Maintain and submit data to Faculty registry (start/end date of the contracts, education, FTE, other data).
6. Corporate Culture / Organizational Development
  1. Demonstrate LCC’s values in all internal and external communication and relationships.
  2. Partner with leadership to infuse institutional values into LCC’s corporate culture.
  3. Oversee institutional professional development programs.
  4. Oversee faculty and staff performance management processes.
  5. Oversee employee recognition programs.
  6. Send HR event and institutional holiday calendar invites.
  7. Assist in arranging HR-sponsored events (i.e., August Staff/Faculty Retreat, Employee Thanksgiving, Christmas Party, April Employee Appreciation, and May Matters).

WORKS CLOSELY WITH:     HR Engagement Specialist, Supervisors at LCC, Academic Vice President, Business Office, HR Volunteers

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:          Relevant bachelor’s degree required
Experience:       
  • At least 3 years of related HR experience
  • Familiarity with higher education (preferred)
  • Familiarity with LCC International University (preferred)
